Pastor’s Pen
Dear church family,
Our worship centers on the main theme of our lives and that is Love and doing it more and that is what’s holy. We have within us God’s holy spirit. We are temples of the Holy Spirit. I have been reflecting and challenging you to reflect on the feeling that God’s spirit is within you which gives you a little extra power that maybe you can continue always to see life a little bit differently. Why not say, “I can do a little bit more.” Why not “Go Big, Go Broke, Go Home!” (That is my motto!) If we had that attitude we could listen more and speak less. We could love more and fear less. We could give more and take less. But it’s hard to keep feeling that we are so blessed to be filled with the Holy Spirit within you.
So, Church, with that in mind, we come together to celebrate, especially today, thanksgiving for all the people who have helped us this past year, especially at Christmas in our outreach. We have paid all of our bills. We have done it all. But we have to keep asking for more. The more that comes in, the more we can send out. That is such a wonderful blessing that this little church family can get up to almost $500,000 a year in giving and sharing. That is really a pretty good blessing! Alleluia! Thank you for praying with us and for coming today especially. We give special thanks, Amen! Alleluia!
P.S. A little message just to our Church Family – We are still trying to come up with a statement about where we stand in relation with the other seven churches of the North Deanery to see how we can do ministry better and use our resources better. So, see Lynn Squires today after mass if you have anything you want to talk about, ask questions and put in the report to the Future of Our Parishes Archdiocesan Task Force which focuses on the areas of Current Standing, Foreseeable Transitions, and Future Desires.
