This is how all will know

Pastor’s Pen for Sunday
May 15, 2022
Fifth Sunday of Easter

Dear Church Family,

You are all my wonderful Easter people and you celebrate resurrection joy and wonderful relationships with everyone in your life as you are attempting to keep that spirit going always. I do have a very special, little wonderful person of joy who is special to me as she is special to me in the Lord and I love her,  as I love you. Her name is Eddie June Forrest, whose home-going  will be this Wednesday, May 18, here at the church with visitation at 10 a.m. and funeral mass at 11. Then we will proceed  on to Calvary Cemetery for the graveside service and burial.

The Lord is giving us a new commitment with a stronger emphasis. He tells us to love one another as He has loved you. As it says, “I give you a new commandment. Love one another, as I have loved you, so also should you love one another.”  Now that is a lot of extra, because the closer we are to the Lord and the more we feel his love, then all the more, we should love that way, and I say “GULP!!!”  But he goes on to say, “This is how all will know you are my disciples as you have love for one another.” But the ideal is to love one another as much as Jesus loves you. So, “This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”  Alleluia!

Love, Fr. Bob
