FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

Dear Church Family,

Ah, one of my favorite images of Jesus is of Him as the Good Shepherd. Really I don’t know what a shepherd does except he totally cares for his sheep, especially if any are lost. I can just feel Jesus loving me, loving everybody and wanting the best for them. When I worship every Sunday, dear Church Family, I look up in the choir loft at the mural of the Good Shepherd. I just know it is a sign to me that I am totally loved and so are you. So enjoy the Good Shepherd putting His arms around you and carrying you especially when life is crusted and disheveled.

As we come to this fourth Sunday of Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday, we are continually enjoying these fifty days of risen life and victory. The weather is conducive to it and I am enjoying special prayers. I found one that I like and would like to share with you. “Resurrected Lord, through your victory over death, You won for us the promise of eternal life. As we celebrate the 50 days of the Easter season, open our hearts to the gift of new life You offer us each day. As the disciples on the road to Emmaus felt their hearts burning within them as You opened the Scriptures to them, may we also feel the stirrings of a deeper appreciation of the Gospel message and a zeal to share it. May all come to know the joy of your new creation. Amen.” Alleluia!

Love, Fr. Bob
