Dear Church Family,
A Joyous Easter to each of you!! He is Risen, Alleluia!!! May those ordinary words of greeting be very special to you today.
As you probably know after 23 years and more that your pastor enjoys the word “Joyous.” I call you the Joyous Family of St. Augustine and I have put it on my car. I didn’t hesitate to put it on my new 2005 Buick. A joyous victory of risen life to all of you! Lent has much meaning when we have made our Lenten efforts together to remind us of that closer walk with the Lord. We shout out His victory with “Alleluia! Alleluia!” Alleluia! We sing joyful songs. Even during some of Eastertime’s fifty days we try to announce Good News each Sunday in little ways. We come out of our tombs. We pierce the darkness and there is light. It feels good to let go of some tombs that we have been in during the Lenten season and now there is victory.
Also, have the image of being Peter or John as they entered the tomb and believed in a new way. They developed great hope, felt renewed, refreshed and felt that victory was really theirs. So, let us feel the way of our spiritual mothers and fathers in faith and celebrate the risen life of the Lord for these fifty days.
Church, you look good today! I just love each one of you. I like to have fun in proclaiming that I don’t always have new clothes on but it is certainly a wonderful delight to see all of you ready to proclaim victory and risen light. Keep it up these next 50 days. The Lord is truly risen. Alleluia! Alleluia!
Again, a joyous Easter to all.
Love, Fr. Bob
